Just as Paul furthers the common view of Aristotelian family systems, so we should further our view of American based family values. We must understand the intricacies of “households” in the Greco-Roman world to see the parallels Paul draws, which will help us move forward. What is also important to note is how Paul uses familiar things from his culture to teach … are we to believe then, that his instructions are binding for all time?
