God is a still small voice – not a blaring siren. God is content to reveal himself to people who ar wiling to pay attention long enough to see. Even those who are “outside” accepted, collective thinking within a particular system. We will encourage our people to discover God who is all and is in all – in all sorts of places.

We so often expect everything to happen according to our laws and rules and systems that we put in place. Christmas teaches us God’s ways or not our ways – so what way is God at work in our midst that will lead us to grace, even if in the eyes of others it is a disgrace?

We will use the genealogy of Jesus to reflect on the dysfunctional family he came from. We will then come to the place where we recognize no matter what our family of origin in, Jesus, in his birth, is always up for telling a new story.

What good is vision if we do not know the steps and how we can get there? Too often we get excited about preferred picture of the future, but no matter how clear the vision is without teaches we have no idea what steps to take and what we need to bring to assure arrival at the destination we long for.

Without shepherds we are lost – out there to fend off danger and wander on our own. We need shepherds to be with us on the journey to ensure all are cared for.
